The Barcelona Section of the MIT Club of Spain is happy to invite you to an Open Discussion on the Technical and Business Future of Artificial Intelligence with Prof. Brian Subirana, Director of the Auto-ID Laboratory at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Brian and and his team have recently developed an artificial intelligence model that detects asymptomatic Coved-19 infections through cellphone-recorded coughs.
The virtual discussion will be held on Tuesday, January 12th at 7 pm CEST/1 pm EST.
This event is organized by the Barcelona section of the MIT Club of Spain and is open to other MIT Clubs in Europe and their partners.
About Brian Subirana
Prof. Brian Subirana is Director of the MIT Auto-ID lab, Director of the MIT and Accenture Convergence Initiative for Industry and Technology, a Research Scientist at MIT and also teaches at Harvard University. Before becoming an academic, he worked at The Boston Consulting Group and founded three start-ups.
Prof. Subirana obtained his PhD in Computer Science at the MIT Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (now CSAIL), his MBA at MIT Sloan and has been affiliated with MIT for over 20 years in various capacities including Visiting Professor at MIT Sloan.
His research centers on the internet of things and AI (blockchain, electric vehicles, and supply chain) and on developing a mathematical theory for deep learning with forgetting, applied to conversational commerce and digital learning.
Most recently during the COVID-19 pandemic, Prof. Subirana has directed his efforts on standardized biomarkers that help smart speakers pre-screen cases of various conditions including COVID, dementia and Alzheimer’s.
